It was founded by Bob and Suzanne Wright in February 2005 one year after their grandson was diagnosed on the spectrum. It received more than $180 million as of 2012. About 1 in every 68 people in the world live with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. There is only a number of them that have a documentary about what it's like living with the condition. Of course, there is not just one that is the best out of all of them. They all work to spread awareness and acceptance in their own unique ways. I decided to write about five Autism focused documentaries that I find are the most interesting and that I think you should watch too. Many people on the Autism spectrum often get told things that can be more offensive than you may assume. Sometimes the first thing that comes to mind should just stay inside of your head. So, what are some things you should not say to people with ASD? I came up with a list of 15 and will include a few extras at the end of things that we do want to hear from you. |
