The Walk I Never Hoped For

​Recently, on the 26th of July, as the sun was going down, the grass was green, children were laughing, and I was taking my therapy poodle, Presto, on a walk. It seemed to be what a great evening would look like, but little did I know that I was about to be traumatized. ​

When I walked around the corner, there was another dog, Sophie, having fun playing fetch with her owner in a high school field. She was a big dog that was white and had some darker colored speckles on her. I'm guessing she was an American Bulldog or a mixed breed of some sort. ​

Burnout Sent Me to the Hospital

On November, 8th 2019 around 9:30am I was in a dance class at my school when all of a sudden I collapsed on the gym floor. I was conscious but could barely move a muscle or communicate in any way. 911 was dialed and I was sent to the Emergency room in an ambulance. Doctors thought that I had a bad seizure or possibly a brain tumor or​ stroke. ​

Some of these people may surprise you. You might not have known that all these well-known stars are actually on the spectrum. Autism and Animal Relationships

Research has shown that dogs can help children with autism develop socially. It can put them in situations that involve communication skills which will boost their self-confidence. For example, If you are walking down the street alone no one may stop to talk to you, but if you are  walking with a dog it's much more likely for someone to approach you.
